FronteMare restaurant is nestled along Poetto Beach in Cagliari. It has a la fresco dining options or you can eat inside the beautiful glass beach house.

The seafood is freshly caught daily and they display the daily catch which you can select from. The restaurant is upmarket and costs approximately $50 per person. We had some drinks on the deck outside. The outside area is on the beach and more like a lounge area which is a nice way to start for some drinks but maybe not as comfortable for a meal. Also it was a little chilly when we went so we went inside for food. The restaurant is beautiful, minimal, clean and beachy with plenty of light and white decor.

We had a cheese board to start which was delicious! It was accompanied by dried fruits and jams. For mains I had the catch of the day, A red snapper and a side of veggies. The food is fresh and cooked well and I highly recommend the catch of the day. We ordered the nutella cheesecake for dessert which is home-made and by far the best cheese cake I have ever had. It had a slightly thicker biscuit base, a firm layer of cheese and then topped with nutella and fresh fruit it was divine!

Frontemare is often hired for weddings, it has a gorgeous location for it and is often used for events, you can do a virtual tour here. In the high-season it is a lounge-bar and club at night with DJs spinning on the beach till the early hours of the morning. Seafood in Sardinia is of a high standard everywhere but I have to say Frontemare was my favourite by far! It had a great location and wonderful holiday beach vibe without being pretentious. It is run by a lovely family and the staff are attentive and friendly
